FW16 - The "Telemetry" Update! - For Tribunus III ESCs
FW16 - The Telemetry Update for Tribunus III ESCs
Scorpion Power Systems has always been at the forefront of innovation in the power system industry. Going back to 2016, we have led the way in implementing ESC telemetry. Providing users with real-time data about their ESCs.
This advancement significantly enhances safety and connectivity with the model, allowing users to more eaisly have data about their power system data, and stay aware of any issues with their setup. Further such telemetry systems make flight timers a thing of the past as users can monitor their battery consumption in milliamp hours (mAh), giving precise insights into battery usage.
Initially, we collaborated with industry leaders Mikado VBAR, followed by Futaba and Jeti, to bring this groundbreaking technology to market. Since then, telemetry has become a standard feature offered by most ESC manufacturers, thanks to its numerous benefits.
Expanding into New Markets
In the RC helicopter world, Mikado, Futaba, and Jeti have been the primary players. However, as we expand into the airplane market, we are excited to announce the support of additional protocols. With the release of Firmware 16 (FW16), we now support FrSky S.Port Protocol and JR DMSS Telemetry on all Tribunus III ESCs.
These systems provide seamless and direct connections to the Tribunus III ESCs with easy programming, delivering critical ESC data such as voltage, current, consumption, temperature, and RPM directly to users.

Other supported systems
In addition to supporting popular telemetry protocols, we have our own UNSC protocol. This protocol further unlocks the possibilities for users looking to enhance their flying experience.
Spektrum X.bus : For Spektrum users, our Scorpion to Spektrum Xbus Telemetry Adapter enables telemetry functionality on Spektrum radios
Rotor Flight Nexus: Rotor flight, the open-source Flybarless (FBL) system, has successfully implemented our UNSC protocol, allowing users to access ESC data through this system.
Countless other systems : Our UNSC protocol can be easily implemented to any MCU allowing for telemetry data on any flight control system including Ardupilot, Pixhawk etc.. For more infomation about UNSC protocol email support@spihk.com .
Other New Features in FW16
Alongside the telemetry updates, FW16 introduces a new Soft Start program for both airplanes and helicopters, providing smoother motor starts. The update also includes various motor control algorithm improvements, a output voltage limiter (more info soon) and enhanced overall performance and responsiveness.
Elevate your experience with FW16
With the FW16 update, Scorpion Power Systems continues to lead in telemetry and ESC technology, providing users with the tools they need for safer and more efficient flying. Whether you’re a seasoned pilot or just starting, the Tribunus III ESCs with FW16 will elevate your flying experience.
